Artist: Robbie Hardkiss
Title: "Get Up" (Part 2 - The Remixes)
Label: Hallucination Limited
Catalog #: HLT009
A FreaksGetFreakyRedo
AA1 Caro Mix
AA2 Robbie's Pipebombs For Crackheads Mix
We're very excited about the Robbie Hardkiss - Get Up REMIXES. All three mixes are debut appearances for Hallucination Limited, so without further ado we'll get down to business.
First up is Luke Solomon & Justin Harris of the beloved Music For Freaks label working in their legendary Freaks guise. The FreaksGetFreakyRedo pulls no punches. Its goes where the Freaks are at their best - that dark, funky corner at the afterhours - not for the light hearted with it’s quirky rhythm, acid house vibe and hints of Prince in the keys.
Then we have Caro from the Kompakt-distributed, Seattle-based label Orac (www.orac.vu). We can't say enough about Caro except we are huge fans of his work. His debut album The Return of Caro and subsequent singles on Orac are things every DJ should check out. Here, he turns in a deep house mix that we know will push all the right buttons in certain circles. Think Theo Parrish meets the laptop school-of-thought.
Lastly, Robbie Hardkiss himself debuts his new Pipebombs For Crackheads project in the form of this remix. A tease of what may become a America's next electronic supergroup... or not. Reckless abandon is the method to the madness here. Electronic party music that's rough around the edges and sends a general message of "don't drink and drive".
